Abstract

While employers highly value leadership skills in their employees, qualifying the economic value of leadership is not easy. The leadership-wage effect study by Kuhn and Weinberger offers some research-based insight into the effect of leadership skills on earnings. The 10-year $45,000 leadership wage gain is an estimate that can be attributed to cumulative leadership experience gained through 4-H, high school activities, and other youth organizations (summary).
