to the Elector of Brandenburgh at Cleves,
from December 1665 to February 1666;
written by Locke as secretary to the embassy.
Contains copies of correspondence with officials in England, the ambassador’s proposals to the Elector,
and the replies of the Elector’s commissioners.
Includes (f. 4) an index of letters (not in Locke’s hand).
Folio. 320 × 27 mm. 59 leaves (including 3 preliminary leaves not part of the letterbook);
ff. 4v-55 numbered by Locke pp. 1-102 (some versos not numbered); ff. 56-59 not numbered.
