Rules of the Dry Club

Description:
A paper titled “Rules of the Dry Club:
For the Amicable Improvemt of Mix’d Conversation”,
and endorsed by Locke “Dry Club 92”.
According to Locke (letter 1562, to Benjamin Furly, 7/17 November 1692),
the paper was sent him by William Popple, who may have been its author.
The paper was possibly written in October 1692.
The manuscript is written in Popple’s hand, on a single sheet, folded once to form 4 pages, 291 × 196 mm.

Description:
Draft in Locke’s hand to Norris’s Cursory reflections …
(1690). The paper is endorsed “JL Answer to Mr Norris Reflections 92” and “JL to Mr. Norris”.
The manuscript consists of three small sheets of paper, each folded to form a total of twelve pages, approx.
150 × 95 mm. The sheets are signed “Ref” A-C; ff. 111v-112 are blank, except for the endorsement.

Morality

Description:
An undated paper in Locke’s hand, with the title “Morality”.
Schankula and Sargentich date it to the 1680s, but Goldie prefers c. 1677-78;
Schuurman suggests that it is related to Locke’s discussions with Molyneux about a treatise on morality between 1692 and 1696.
The manuscript is written two small sheets of paper, 156 × 97 mm.
Each sheet is folded horizontally, forming two columns; the text is written on the right side,
the left side reserved for marginal captions and for additions and corrections (of which there are none in the case).
