Young adult dystopia. Taris is an experiment in survival in which an island has been domed and provided with flora and fauna and 500 people when much of the world is destroyed in conflicts. Over time it has developed an authoritarian and conformist ethos. The novel is about a girl who does not fit and who is interested in what has happened Outside.
