2006 Youth Character Education Program Evaluation

The youth Character Education Program had been initiated to address risk factors, social or substance that have a negative influence on the youth in Karnes County. Utilizing the 4-H and Youth Committee, the program was implemented for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in two school districts in the county. A pre-post evaluation concerning student attitudes was conducted by every teacher in each grade during the 2005-2006 school year. The teachers rated various attitude levels in September 2005 before the students started the program and again in May 2006. Improvements were shown in all factors among 88-100% of the students
