Abstract |
Data from a statewide questionnaire survey of Kentucky farmers (n=2,004) wre used to ananlyze the long-term impacts of participation in the 4-H. Results revealed that 27% were 4-H members as youth, with the average membership of 4.5 years. Ninety % of former members rated their 4-H experience as worthwhile. Those who were members also had more education, higher farm sales, higher farm incomes and are more likely to use innovative farm techniques than those who were not 4-H members. |
