| Abstract |
The purpose of the study was to identify and study characteristics, functions, objectives and roles of 4-H youth work in the U.S. and ten selected nations for the possibility of determining suitability in Afghanistan. Recommendations from the study were as follows: to take steps to enable extension staff of Afghanistan to learn more about 4-H club work and second, to develop a recommended plan for promoting 4-H club work in Afghanistan to meet the needs, interests, wants and objectives of young people and of the whole community. 4-H club work should be established by the ministry of Agriculture, a comprehensive in-service training program be provided, local volunteer leaders trained and 4-H should provide practical experiences in real life situations. |
