Abstract

This study examined factors affecting attitudes held by Extension professionals. The research probed the effect of three variables on professionals attitudes toward employment of paraprofessionals youth workers and tasks appropriate for them in Extension youth programs. The variables investigated were: 1) experience with paraprofessionals, 2) Extension position, and 3) staffing patterns with or without a 4-H professional position. Data were collected from Kansas and Missouri Extension professionals working at the county level.
