Abstract

This descriptive and correlational study identified factors that affect teen involvement in 4-H programming. Using a purposive sampling procedure, a survey questionaaire was distributed to all (N=214) 4-H members attending a 4-H State Leadership Conference. Aligned with previous studies, parents were found to have a great influence on their children's choices within 4-H. The study also showed that 4-H members are given the opportunity to lead meetings and organize events.
