Abstract

Because of the methodological and design limitations found in many of the studies reviewed, it was not possible to clearly identify the type or level of impact that sustained involvement in 4-H had on members' development. There was, however, some evidence that suggested that youth who participate in 4-H over time and had assumed leadership roles and responsibilities perceived their 4-H experience as contributing to the development of important life and leadership skills. Eleven recmmendations were made for improving the utility of future 4-H studies and reports.--From the Executive Study.
