| Abstract |
State school fitness tests, obesity rates, and lack of play and recreation spaces were examined. Elementary and middle school students from urban scities scored below the state average. None of the fourth graders from one school passed the four standard fitness measures. An evaluation of a 8-week program indicated that programs might improve performance on standard fitness tests, nutrition knowledge, and daily exercise. |
