AbstractA four-page survey tool was developed by the research team from results of focus groups of 48 teens. The survey was administered to 1,943 high school seniors from 12 high schools in seven counties during 2006. Nearly half of the students reported that parents were the most helpful resource for them when they were learning to drive, followed by driver training at 26%. Thirteen percent of the youth indicated that they were driving without a permit. The research team was composed of county and state 4-H YD staff.
