Abstract

This study addresses why youth choose to discontinue membership in 4-H, asking current members what they know about youth who do not choose to reenroll and what factors might guide programmatic adjustments to decrease member dropouts. The study addressed the number of factors that are needed to cause a member to discontinue, whether discontinuing members felt 4-H was un-cool. There was no significant single factor found that caused young people to dropout.
