Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine youth perceptions about 4-H in Ohio. Data were collected through a questionnaire given to youth in grades 4, 7, and 10 from nine different schols in Ohio. A total of 1, 462 students provided usable data. Of those that had never been members of 4-H were significantly more likely to agree that 4-H is boring while current and former members were more likely to agree that 4-H is fun and cool. The older the youth, the less favorable they viewed 4-H.
