Abstract |
Discusses which United States liberal arts colleges were the first to automate and whether geography, type of college (Liberal Arts l or ll), or public/private control was a factor. A study indicates that initially Liberal Arts l colleges in the Northeast and Midwest were quicker to adopt new information technologies. Over time and with the adoption of newer technologies, however, factors such as location, type, or control are less significant.
