"Dangerous Reading" in the Soviet Era

The subject of this paper will be the influence of patterns of literature on morals in the Soviet era. It seems to me useful to choose and analyze that aspect of this influence which has been described in the title as "dangerous reading." In this case I am not talking about the most obvious meaning of these words - namely, reading ideologically and politically suspicious literature, which was, to be sure, dangerous. Rather I will discuss a much more subtle aspect of reading's influence, namely, the psychological danger of reading.
