| Abstract |
Discusses various knowledge classification systems prevailing in India during the ancient, Jain, Buddha, Muslim and British periods. Also, library classification systems used in Indian libraries before the invention of Colon Classification by S R Ranganathan have been taken up for the study. The Colon Classification has been discussed in a bit detail along with the Prachaya-Vergikama-Paddhiti. Impact of one classification on the other following it, has been analysed. |
