| Abstract |
During the Spring of 2010, the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University vacated a building that had been used for the off-site storage of library materials. Many books, primarily periodicals and reporters, were either disposed of or sent to offsite storage elsewhere. Among the books found among the library’s collection was volume three of Reports of Cases Determined in the Court of Chancery of the State of New Jersey 2d (1877). A bookplate identified this volume as having been “presented to the Dickinson School of Law by the Japanese Carnival held April 22 and 23, 1892, organized by Mr. Issa Tanimura, of Tokyo, Japan; member of the class of 1892.” So far as is known it is the sole surviving book from the “Japanese Memorial Law Library.” |
