Libraries and the Development of Culture in China

Nowadays, no matter how many definitions are given to culture and no matter what content and extent of culture are defined, there is the view that culture has had a special position and has played a special role in the development of human society. It is quite obvious that libraries, being a kind of phenomenon of social culture, play a positive role in social life and give impetus to the development of culture. This comprehensive survey of the history of libraries in China indicates that the creation of libraries is based on the development of culture in China and, in turn, gives impetus to its further development.
