This round table proposes to assess the inventory of the libraries of monastic orders drawn up at the time when Church property was seized during the Revolution. The document dating from 1790, which often copies from the catalogues actually used by the monks, is compared with other sources; the rules for setting up monastic libraries, preserved books, donations and inventories made after death.
