Horn, head of the reference department at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania was jailed for refusing to provide evidence to the FBI regarding Phillip Berrigan, a member of the Harrisburg Seven anti-war group. Later she worked for the Modesto, (California) Public Library, where she coordinated Spanish lessons for staff so they could better serve Hispanic community members. She served on the ALA Council and the Intellectual Freedom Committee and was involved in the controversy over the film The Speaker.
