Abstract |
Since many people think of Mexico as a land of deserts and coasts, few would come here in search of some of the world's most humid forests. But if you wander up the mountains facing the Gulf of Mexico or the Pacific Ocean, you will discover the cloud forest. This dense and luxuriant vegetation receives its name from the cloud banks which come drifting onto the mountainsides, dropping some fo the 2,000-4,000mm of annual precipitation.
