Abstract
Fuelwood and rural women should be closely tied to agroforestry in the Third World. Fuelwood scarcity poses problems for rural women. Time lost in gathering wood, rising wood costs, poorer soils, food shortage for small farm animals, less fuel for market industries, and shorter cooking time result. Diminishing natural forests mean fewer important non-wood products from the forests. Some recommendations are made.
