Abstract | I shall describe the Ikalahan of Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, a forest-dwelling society with whom I have had extensive experience and involvement. I shall make a brief description of their journey on the rugged terrain of forest development and then I will bring together some of the basic lessons and principles which are to be learned from their experience, which will make their experience applicable to other peoples in other places and the total concept replicable in other parts of Southeast Asia.
