Abstract |
The World Bank has come under heavy attack after issuing a memorandum that details the eviction of hundreds of thousands of people. They are planning a forestry project that will make it possible for roads to be built making the forest accessible. The problem is there are no resources to place these evicted forest dwellers into new homes. The purpose is to "improve management of the forest," and advance logging projects. They say they are making provisions to help with resettlement, however critics are still unsatisfied with the upcoming proposal.
