Abstract

The objective was to determine whether EFNEP affects the quality of life of its participants and educators. Quality of life was reassured 3 times for participants and educators before 6 months and after 12 months of training. Participants and educators were from Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Additional educators were from Georgia and Texas. Additional participants were from Minnesota and Virginia. All spoke English. Chi-square and t-tests compared group demographics and repeated-measures ANOVA detected changes over time. ANCOVA examined the influence of demographic variables. Participants improved from pre to post in the Being domains, including Overall Being and in Social Belonging. Most improvements were sustained 3 months. Educators improved in the belonging domains and a number of scores continued to improve at 1 year after training, for example in Social Belonging and Community belonging. Implications projected that the quality of life profile has the potential to broadened the assessment of EFNEP impacts.
