Announcing . . .
Updates to John Locke sites available as blog, RSS feed
I am pleased to announce that there are some significant enhancements to my John Locke sites about to be introduced.
The first enhancement is the creation of a blog which will be used to announce enhancements to the site in general, as well as additions to the John Locke Bibliography, the John Locke Chronology, and the John Locke Manuscripts. The additions to the bibliography will duplicate the lists of Recent Additions but will be posted to the blog as the entries are added. In addition, the blog is available as an RSS feed, which will allow you to receive notice of new additions without having to check the site.
The URL for the John Locke Resources blog is: http://sites.psu.edu/johnlockeresources/.
The first message on the blog is the announcement of additions to the John Locke Bibliography posted during January. Plans for enhancements during 2009 include:
- Addition of a search box that will let you search each of the three sites or all of them at once.
- A redesign of each of the three sites, with an improved layout. There will also be a new John Locke Resources home page, providing a gateway to all three sites, as well as announcements and other resources relating to Locke. [Warning: The new design tests well in all browsers except Internet Explorer.]
- Additional content for the John Locke Chronology, including datable information from Lockes journals and correspondence.
- Additional content for the John Locke Manuscripts, including index entries for Lockes marginal captions and endorsements. In addition, I hope to begin posting parts of an extensive essay on Lockes methods of working as they are reflected in his working collections of books and manuscripts.
Look for announcements of these enhancements on the blog! I hope that they will make these sites even more useful to you.
