It is dated “Jan 29 [16]79/80”, and intialed by Locke. The note begins at the bottom of p. 225 and continues at the top of p. 274. They are not in Locke’s hand and are not initialed by him, but may have been copied by an amanuensis at his direction. Publications: None Haemoptoe (1680)Location: Bodleian Library, MS. Locke d. 9, p. 127. Description: A note in Locke’s hand, with the marginal captions “Haemoptoe” and “Brier balls”. It is dated “[16]80”, and intialed by Locke. Publications: None “Curse on the park” [copied 1680-1683?]Location: A volume containing miscellaneous poems, currently owned by Dr. Nicholas Fisher, ff. 15v-17v. Description: A poem in rhyming couplets, 34 lines, headed “To a yong Lady that could never be found at home” and beginning “Curse on the Park the Plays & business too”. At the end, there is a note in the hand of Locke’s friend James Tyrrell: “By my dear friend, Mr J. Locke”. The poem may be in the hand of Locke’s manservant and amanuensis, Sylvester Brounower, and may have been copied into the volume between 1680 and 1683, when Locke spent considerable time at Tyrrell’s house at Oakley.
