Abstract |
A Hollywood adaptation of Neil H. Swanson’s The First Rebel (1937), a biographical novel of Colonel James Smith (John Wayne). The script thins and dramatically changes the novel’s plot, beginning in 1759 when Jim Smith returns after the French and Indian War from Quebec to Pittsburgh's Allegheny Valley.
