A small screen adaptation of the 2009 novel set in Buell, Fayette County, a fictitious, depressed Rust Belt town. Police chief Del Harris (Jeff Daniels) courts Grace Poe (Maura Tierney), a divorced seamstress, while a murder investigation leads Harris to Poe's son, Billy (Alex Neustaedter).
