Abstract

Stephen Brant, raised by Mohawk Indians from infancy, joins Christopher Gist and George Washington on their diplomatic mission in Western Pennsylvania. Brant is conflicted about his loyalties to many tribes, the French, the American colonists, and the Redcoats.

Author Biography

Gardner Francis Fox (1911-86) was a lawyer who turned to writing fiction during the Great Depression. Fox wrote dozens of novels in a range of genres: fantasy, science fiction, Westerns, romance, and historical fiction. He also wrote for DC Comics and helped develop superheroes like Batman, the Flash, and Green Lantern.
