Abstract

Cliff Thompson, a post-World War II con artist, suckers Pittsburgh geologists and engineers into aiding him with the biggest scam of his career: wildcat oil drilling in Oklahoma. Cliff's motivation is to scheme his girlfriend's father, who killed his own father in a rigged card game.

Author Biography

Robin Moore (1925-2008) was born in Boston and educated at Harvard University. Moore was a World War II veteran and the author of several dozen books, including The Green Berets, The French Connection, and with Xaviera Hollander, The Happy Hooker.
