Abstract |
After his family is killed during an errant U. S. military operation in an unnamed Muslim country, Jonas, 15, is sent by an aid agency to live with a foster family in suburban Pittsburgh. He excels at high school and earns a scholarship to Pitt, yet he struggles to adapt to local culture and to cope with the mystery of the Johnstown soldier who saved his life.
