Abstract |
Follows a German American family that consists of Edmund, a firefighter obsessed with alchemy, and his two adult children: one a priest, the other a psychiatrist. Edmund is tormented by memories of his wife, Fanny, a flamboyant dancer, who abandoned her husband and kids and Pittsburgh.

Author Biography |
Kathleen Cambor (1947— ) was born and raised in Pittsburgh, earning a degree in nursing at the University of Pittsburgh. She lives in Houston, where for many years she's taught in the University of Houston Creative Writing Program.
