Abstract |
Chronicles the first Kennedy-Nixon debate in McKeesport in 1947 on the Taft-Hartley bill, and especially the two men’s return trip to Washington DC. This odd couple of freshman congressmen—both former Navy officers and future Presidents—shared a Pullman compartment on the Capitol Limited and talked most of the night from Pittsburgh to Washington.
