Abstract |
The novel begins with the middle-aged male protagonist sprawling in a pool of blood on the bathroom floor with a hole in his skull. He struggles to tell the reader how he got into the prone position, but eight gorgeous women, who lounge in a bedroom nearby, cut him off. In the man’s vision, it seems, each woman narrates a full chapter about her own life.
