Author Biography |
Lester Cohen (1901-63) was a Chicago native and writer of fiction and screenplays. He is best known for his international bestseller Sweepings (Boni & Liveright, 1926), which was twice made into a film. In 1931, he traveled to support, along with novelists John Dos Passos and Theodore Dreiser, the United Mine Workers strike in Harlan County, Kentucky.
