Abstract

A four-act, Broadway stage play portraying the saga of Ed and Jack Biddle, who overpowered victims with chloroform before robbing them. The Biddles were convicted and sentenced to hang before the warden’s wife, Kate Soffel, helped them escape from the Allegheny County Jail.
