Abstract |
Teenager Annie Nutter is a plain Jane until her techy father’s invention transmutes her into the gorgeous and wealthy Ayla Monroe. She teleports to Miami Beach with clubbing, concerts, and hot dates. “At first [Annie] enjoys the perks of her status,” writes School Library Journal, “but eventually she realizes that her so-called friends are shallow, she feels nothing for her jerky boyfriend, her new dad is a womanizer, and her mom is miserable.”
