Abstract |
Chris “Crest” Tolbert, a paralyzed 18-year-old, is haunted by the accidental death of his best friend, Bean. While tagging an overpass with graffiti, both fell. Vanessa is Chris’ pregnant girlfriend, while his brother Eugene found Jesus in prison. Chris’ father is secretly gay. Miss Fisk is the stalwart grandmother. The East Busway—called here “Martin Robinson Express Busway”—and Penn Circle play roles as the barricades that marginalize East Liberty.
