Abstract | Elmer Kane (Jack Oakie), a New York Yankees prospect, loves vaudeville actress Evelyn Corey (Evenlyn Brent). In training camp, a Yankee scout sends Kane love letters signed by Corey to improve his performance. In the 1927 World Series against Pittsburgh, gamblers try to bribe Kane to throw the deciding game, but Kane hits a home run to win the Series and Corey’s heart. |
