Abstract
Hunt Stevenson (Michael Keaton) is a local hero who promises that auto-assembly workers can be re-trained and match the best production day of any Assan Motors factory in Japan. When the workers resent the new demands and odd style of the new Japanese bosses, cultures clash and comedy erupts.

Based on a story by Edwin Blum (1906-1995), Lowell Ganz (1948- ), and Marc "Babaloo" Mandel (1949- ). The film was directed by Ron Howard and shot in Pittsburgh, West Homestead, Allegheny County, and Beaver County's Beaver and Rochester. The script is now held in Beverly Hills at the Margaret Herrick Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Lowell Ganz (1948- ), born in New York City, was educated at Queens College, City University of New York. Ganz is a screenwriter, director, and a former adjunct professor of graduate film screening at University of Southern California. Marc "Babaloo" Mandel (1949- ), born in New York City, was educated at Queens College, City University of New York. Mandel is a screenwriter and director.
