Abstract |
This novel with a double helix plot sets the first protagonist, Roy Armstrong, in 1930s Mexico, and the second, Walter Hardy, with the Iran-Contra Affair in 1980s Nicaragua. It takes a steel heiress turned revolutionary, Peggy Arnett, to connect these two threads to Pittsburgh. A complex and sophisticated tale written in splendid language.
