The Pittsburgh Cougars, a fictitious professional baseball club, sign Jewish soda jerk Benny Goldberg (Benny Rubin) as a catcher to lure more Jewish fans to games. Benny and his pal, Jim Nolan, prove their worth by leading the team to the World Series.

Notes |
The plot is a spoof of New York Giants manager John McGraw, who allegedly signed Andy Cohen to draw Jewish fans away from Babe Ruth’s Yankees.
