A century after the Johnstown Flood of 1889, two Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporters interview a 103-year-old Ellen Emerson, the great flood’s last survivor. Ellen insists her twin sister Mary, who went missing in the disaster, is still alive. One of the reporters, Nina Collins, pledges to help Ellen find her missing half.
Author Biography
Kathleen George (1943— ), born and raised in Johnstown, Cambria County, is professor of theater arts and creative writing at the University of Pittsburgh. She is the widow of the late novelist Hilary Masters. She lives in Pittsburgh's Mexican War Streets.
