Abstract | A melodramatic silent film adaptation of the stage play, Just a Woman (1916), in which June Holton (Claire Windsor), a Pittsburgh housewife, helps her simpleton husband Robert (Conway Tearle) rise to director of a steel company. The new wealth drives Robert into an affair with Clarice Clement (Dorothy Revier), but all ends well as when Robert returns to June and admits she's “more than just a woman.” |
Author Biography | Jack Cunningham (1882-1941) was born in Iowa and worked in Pittsburgh for a time at the Pittsburgh Leader. Cunningham scripted more than 100 silent movies between 1918 and 1925. |
