Abstract |
When his wife passes away and he is forced to retire from his job of nearly 40 years, the curmudgeonly Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks) decides to kill himself. However, his attempts are constantly interrupted by his boisterous new neighbor, Marisol Mendes (Mariana Treviño), which leads to an unlikely friendship.

David Magee (1962- ), born in Flint, Michigan, was educated at Michigan State University and the University of Illinois. He wrote the screenplays for Mary Poppins Returns (2018) and Life of Pi (2012), for which he earned an Academy Award nomination. |
