Abstract |
Among all of the cliques at Benson High School, Greg Gaines, 17, is friendless. Earl Jackson is his sidekick, as the two, with little else in common, like to write and film odd movies. Things change when Greg’s mother guilt-trips him into a forced mitzvah: making sick-calls on Rachel Kushner, a former Hebrew school classmate now dying of leukemia.
