In 1997, two 12-year-old girls, Teagan and Jamie, vow to be best friends forever. In 2011, Teagan is a social worker called to the hospital bedside of a Jane Doe who suffers amnesia. Pieces of memory return: Jane Doe is Jamie and Jamie was beaten. Teagan promises to nurse Jamie back to health.
