Abstract |
Teenage punk rocker Rupert Marshetta (Keanu Reeves) and his older, hippie girlfriend (Amy Madigan) kidnap Rupert’s miserable, coal miner father (Fred Ward) to gain the family’s money and flee small town life.

Ron Nyswaner (1956— ), born in Clarksville, Greene County, is a screenwriter and activist. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he's best known for his 1993 screenplay Philadelphia about HIV/AIDS and homophobia.
